谈跃生先生:博格华纳的所有技术都紧紧围绕着三个使命:提高燃油经济性、降低排放、增强车辆性能。只能这样,我们才能实现“成为全球动力与传动技术领袖”的愿景,也只有这样,我们才能在各种危机中生存下来并发展壮大。因为只要还有主机厂存在,博格华纳的产品就会受欢迎。比如我们的DCT双离合器技术,早在2003年,博格华纳率先推出了用于Audi TT上的全球第一款量产DCT技术产品,可以说引领了世界变速器的技术潮流。与装配同级别其他变速器的车型相比,装配DCT的车辆可节省油耗5%~10%,同时还大大提高了驾驶乐趣;再比如我们的R2S两级涡轮增压器,不仅提升车辆动力性能20%,还能降低排放15%,因此被越来越多的一流主机厂所广泛采用,比如已成功应用于沃尔沃D5发动机和奔驰最新的四缸柴油发动机中;在Morse TEC正时链条方面,博格华纳独创的凸轮转矩起动CTA技术既能提高发动机燃油经济性,又能显著提升动力系统响应速度,这在2010款捷豹XK上有充分体现;在驱动领域,博格华纳在全球首推了ITM智能扭矩管理系统,以领先竞争对手5年的优势引领了世界智能四轮驱动的新潮流;在新版保时捷911上所采用的博格华纳BV50G涡轮增压器技术和NexTrac AWD系统双双获得了年度PACE技术创新奖。今年上海车展期间,博格华纳正在推广的eGearDrive,是专门针对混合动力汽车的创新传动技术,顺应了全球节能环保的潮流;博格华纳热能管理系统的Cool Logic可变速风扇驱动器可使油耗降低3%,发动机冷却系统寿命延长,噪声显著降低;此外,博格华纳BERU的冷启动系统与智能点火线圈也一直是业内的技术领先者。

AI:作为在中国发展多年的创新型企业,博格华纳在中国的技术研发及业务拓展情况如何?未来3~5年,贵公司在这里将有怎样的进一步发展规划?

谈跃生先生:博格华纳一直把中国市场作为一个战略成长型市场来看待,所以在研发与市场开拓方面投入了众多资源与力量。从2008年10月开工的中国技术中心项目,到同年11月与中发联(由国内12家主流主机厂合资而成)成立双离合器合资公司,以及其他很多正在进行或谈判的项目,都表明博格华纳越来越看重中国市场。至于研发,我们会先致力于建设本土的应用工程团队,随着成熟度的提高,会培育自己的开发力量,最终成为博格华纳全球研发网络的一支生力军甚至创新者。

中国市场的独特性与快速成长性,决定了博格华纳会对其保持特殊关注与重点投入。目前,我们在中国市场的销售还仅仅是公司全球业务相对较小的一部分,但其增长速度却是最快的。根据我们的估计,在未来几年,博格华纳在中国的发展速度要远远高于业内平均水平。我们的目标是在未来5年内,博格华纳中国区的销售额实现高达6倍的增长!

AI:您刚刚提到位于大连市的“博格华纳联合传动系统有限公司”的进展情况如何?

谈跃生先生:该项目进展顺利。在本次上海车展期间,我们将召开第一次董事会。根据规划,该工厂将在2011年如期投产,到2020年产量会达到150万台,届时合资公司的产品将覆盖12家主机厂80%的DCT需求量。提到DCT中的三大核心产品,我想说明一点:博格华纳的DualTronic变速器控制模块不仅仅用在我们的湿式双离合器上,还可以供给干式双离合器使用,比如菲亚特动力科技(FPT)将于今年下半年面世的其首款干式双离合变速器C365系列,其中一款就采用了博格华纳的DualTronic模块。因此在双离合器变速器领域内部,合作也是很重要的。

AI:目前,市场上有AT、AMT、CVT及DCT等多种变速器方案。您认为未来的变速器解决方案应该是怎样的?在这方面,博格华纳有怎样的优势?

谈跃生先生:中国在今年第一季度已成为整车产销第一大国,但在变速器技术方面还处于初级阶段。百花齐放,百家争鸣,这是很正常的现象。至于哪种变速器技术会成为未来的主流?我想不外乎是能满足节能、减排、舒适和高性能等基本要求的技术。当然,该技术同时还要能充分利用中国变速器市场的存量优势,节约社会成本。这样一来,我们估计DCT双离合器自动变速器会成为未来市场的主流。从全球来看,双离合器自动变速器产量的年增长速度平均为42%,2008年大约是60万台,到2014年将达到500万台。届时,作为双离合器自动变速器的倡导者与领导者,博格华纳将向全球超过80%的双离合器变速器提供DualTronic控制模块、双离合器模块,或者两种产品同时提供。

AI:我们知道,此次金融危机给汽车工业带来了强力冲击,整车销售量的大幅下滑直接导致了零部件供应商陷入经营困境。请问,博格华纳在全球以及在中国市场的发展受到了怎样的影响?贵公司将通过怎样的措施在危机中抓住机遇?

谈跃生先生:众所周知,全球金融危机对实体经济,特别是对汽车工业的影响巨大。博格华纳作为专注汽车零部件的企业,也在所难免。相对而言,中国市场受到的影响要小得多。首先,博格华纳是百年老店,既有产品领先优势,又有成本控制传统。加上我们善于资源优化,在危机中幸存下来问题不大。另外,我们还有很独特的一点,就是客户多元化。这是一项需要持之以恒的战略,在平时会显得很辛苦,但在经济低迷期,它的优势就不言而喻了。这也是为什么我们多年来一直看好并努力开拓像中国这样的新兴市场。2009年我们在中国仍将按计划推出众多新产品和新项目。

机遇不是靠某个时间段一抓就有的,而是要靠平时耐心培养和磨练。博格华纳自始至终一直坚持正确的产品方向。同时,通过不断的技术创新、严谨的财务制度、多元化的客户策略来积累我们独特不可复制的核心竞争力。有了这些,我们自然可以临危不乱、稳步发展。

BorgWarner: Spring up against the “Crisis” --An Interview with Mr. Tom Tan, President of BorgWarner China

As a pioneer of global powertrain technology, all of BorgWarner’s technologies mainly focus on three major missions: improved fuel economy, reduced emissions and great performance. Only by doing so, can the vision of “To be the Global Technology Leader in Powertrain Solutions” come true, and so can we survive through various crises and spring up ourselves vigorously.

BorgWarner has always valued Chinese market as a strategic growth one; therefore, great amount of resource and manpower has been put into R & D and market exploration. In the aspect of R & D, we will be committed to setting up a local application engineering team, and with the increased maturity degree, we will foster the strength of development, and ultimately become a vital force or innovator among BorgWarner’s global R & D network.

The uniqueness and rapid growth of Chinese market promote BorgWarner to maintain its special concerns and key input. At present, our sales volume in the Chinese market merely covers a relatively small share in the company's global operation, but its growth rate is the fastest. According to our estimates, in the next few years, BorgWarner's growth rate in China will be much higher than the average business level. Our goal is to get BorgWarner's sales volume in China up to 6 times in the next 5 years.

Currently, the project of "BorgWarner United Transmission Systems Co., Ltd." in Dalian isprogressing smoothly. During SHANGHAIAuto Show of this time, we will hold the first board meeting. According to the scheme, we will put it into operation in 2011 as scheduled, and by 2020, the output will reach 1.5 million units, then the joint venture's products will cover 80% DCT demands of the12 OEMs.

What kind of transmission technology will become the mainstream in the future? I would like to propose nothing more than the technology which meets the fundamental requirements of energy saving, emission reduction, comfort and high-performance. Of course, at the same time, such technology shall also make full use of advantages from China's transmission market storage for the social cost saving. As a result, we estimate that DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission will become the mainstream in the future market. Global viewing, the dual-clutch automatic transmission production’s annual growth rate reaches 42% on average, i.e. approximately 0.6 million in 2008 and 5 million in 2014. By then, as an advocate and leader in DCT field, BorgWarner will provide more than 80% of the global dual-clutches with its DualTronic transmission control module, dual-clutch module, or both products at the same time.

As is known to all, the global financial crisis has exerted tremendous impact on the real economy, especially on the automobile industry. It’s also inevitable to BorgWarner - an enterprise focused on auto parts business. Relatively speaking, the impact on Chinese market is fairly smaller. First of all, BorgWarner is a time honored company, which boosts theleading-edge products and cost control tradition. Coupled with our ability of resources optimization, there will be little barrier for survival during the crisis. In addition, we have a unique point, that is, customer diversification. This is a strategy that requires perseverance; in peacetime, it would be tough, while during a period of economic downturn, its advantage is self-evident. That is why we have been cherishing and striving to explore such emerging markets like China. In 2009 we will continue to launch many new products and new projects as planned in China.
