On May 8, 2015, the State Council released Chinese version Industry 4.0 Plan — Made in China 2025 which reveals potential significant adjustment of global manufacturing landscape. Since financial crisis, industrial powers in the world have developed national strategies and plans for stimulating growth of the real economy; as Germany unveiled “Industry 4.0” in national strategy, US formulated “Reindustrialization”, Manufacturing Renaissance, Advanced Manufacturing Partnership; Japan initiated “Revitalization Strategy”; South Korea launched “New Power Strategy”; France also put forward “New Industrial France”. Undoubtedly, Made in China 2025 is development strategy worked out by China according to China’s time node and ecological environment for development. Meanwhile, Chinese Government weakened for the first time “five-year” time limit specified in past plans and extended planning period to 2025 while placing more emphasis on medium and long-term planning and maintaining policy continuity, which certainly drives, at execution level, manufacturing technology innovations and upgrading to fast track.

Currently, in-depth fusion between new generation of information technology and manufacturing industry is triggering far-reaching industrial change to develop new production mode, industrial form, business model and economic growth points. Countries are intensifying scientific and technical innovations, and pushing ahead with new breakthroughs in such fields as 3D printing, mobile internet, cloud computing, big data, new energy and new materials etc. Intelligent manufacturing based on cyber-physical system including intelligent equipmentsand intelligent factory etcis leading change of manufacturing mode; network crowdsourcing, collaborative design, large-scale personalized customization, precision supply chain management, total lifecycle management and e-commerce etcare shaping industrial value chain system; intelligent terminal products such as wearable intelligent products and intelligent vehicles etcare expanding new manufacturing fields. China’s manufacturing industry is embracing great opportunities for transformation, upgrading and innovative development. 

The 3rd International Advanced Manufacturing Technology Summit 2015 will be held on October 23, 2015.
